10/3/2020 During his visit to Istanbul Beykoz Municipality, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu travelled around the town on a bike. Minister Kasapoğlu, who also took a walk in Polonezköy Nature Park, met with citizens. 

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu visited Istanbul Beykoz Municipality. Minister Kasapoğlu received information from Beykoz Mayor Murat Aydın about the youth and sports investments made and planned to be made across the town, and the destination of his first visit was Alibahadır Recreation Area. After touring the recreation area where many sports activities are performed, particularly archery, Minister Kasapoğlu rode a bike to and toured Riva together with Beykoz Mayor Murat Aydın and cyclists. 

Minister Kasapoğlu took a walk in Polonezköy Nature Park

Minister Kasapoğlu then took a walk in Polonezköy Nature Park on the occasion of October 3-4, ‘World Walking Day’.

Minister Kasapoğlu received great interest from citizens while walking on the track. Minister Kasapoğlu greeted the citizens that were exercising and had a char with them about sports. Minister Kasapoğlu gave books to citizens as presents and said that exercise is very important for health and that everyone from all age groups should act with such awareness.

“We took a walk on this meaningful day to raise awareness”

Stating that the first weekend of October every year is celebrated as the World Walking Day, Minister Kasapoğlu said, “We have taken a walk on this meaningful day to emphasize the importance of sports in our lives for a healthy life and to raise awareness in our society. We have spent time in nature during the pandemic, knowing how important our health is. Experts always state how important body resistance is in combating the pandemic and how important exercise is to be resistant. In order to maintain and improve our health, we should regularly do physical activities and make exercise an indispensable part of our lives. We should also exercise to improve our mental health and reduce the stress of daily life for a moment”.

“We expect citizens of all ages to exercise in our facilities”

Inviting citizens to exercise for a healthy life, Minister Kasapoğlu said:

“We expect everybody, young and old alike, to exercise in our facilities. They can exercise in our facilities that are at the service of our people every day of the week. Since 2002, we have made very serious investments in sports under the leadership of our President. We have a President who attaches importance to sports. On behalf of the sports community, I want to express our gratitude to him. Without making an exception on the basis of women, men, young or old, we have to be a society that exercises. We will raise champions in every branch of sports, and we will always march ahead as a society that exercises and as a sports country. We will continue to work with all our energy so that our people can always have access to sports”.
