“WE WANT TO MAKE OUR ISTANBUL A CENTRE FOR TENNIS”
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu
has stated that they wanted to make İstanbul a tennis centre: “Just a couple of days before, we have renovated the tennis facility in Istinye and taken it into service. We will continue our works to educate young tennis players and help them to represent our country in internationally recognized organizations. I have a strong belief that, with the generation rose along with sport, culture, art and science, future is getting brighter for us.”
Minister Kasapoğlu attended the award ceremony for the tennis tournament that was organized for the commemoration of Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu.
Minister Kasapoğlu attended the finals that were held at Global Sport Club Courts, and congratulated winning contestants.
After the award ceremony Minister Kasapoğlu stated to the press that, they wanted to make İstanbul a centre for tennis. “The core meanings of the sport are friendship, solidarity and health. That is why, we are working to make these aspects of the sports even stronger, to make sports available for everyone, and to make them easy to access. Just a couple of days before, we have renovated the tennis facility in Istinye and taken it into service. We will continue our works to educate young tennis players and help them to represent our country in internationally recognized organizations. I have a strong belief that, with the generation raised along with sport, culture, art and science, future is getting brighter for us.”
“We have projects to honour Cemil Taşçıoğlu’s memory.”
Minister Kasapoğlu commemorated Cemil Taşçıoğlu, who lost his life in the first days of the Covid-19 pandemic. Minister Kasapoğlu stated:
“Cemil Taşçıoğlu is a great human-being, who served many people as a pioneer in his field. We, unfortunately, lost him due to Covid-19, but he will always stay in his friends, and beloved one’s heart as a person of love, because he was an important value for all of us. This tournament is a great opportunity to commemorate his memory. We will organize new projects to honour his memory. Because we know his devoted, and self-sacrificing efforts both prior and during pandemic as a doctor. We will educate our youngsters with his story, to raise them just like him serving the people. We remember him with mercy and gratitude. We desire to overcome this period with minimum lost as whole Turkish nation. I would like to express our gratitude, on behalf of our nation, for whole health-care professionals, notably Cemil Taşçıoğlu.”
A message from Minister Kasapoğlu on upcoming Derby
Minister Kasapoğlu wishes both teams success for the upcoming derby, which will be held in Kadıköy tomorrow, he stated “I wish both teams’ friendly and a competitive derby, with sportsmanship”.
Minister Kasapoğlu presented plaquette and flowers to Didem Taşçıoğlu, wife of Cemil Taşçıoğlu.
