Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu
gave the start to Rally Turkey, the 5th Rally of the World Rally Championship (WRC). Minister Kasapoğlu stated that the organization held with the participation of 130 athletes and 65 cars from 219 countries contributed significantly to Turkey’s promotion.
On the first day of the organization, pilots made trial drives in the shakedown stage in Değirmenyanı location in the morning. World famous pilots, who came to the starting point in Marmaris Square for the lap, attracted attention from both local and foreign viewers. At the ceremony held in the square, Minister Kasapoğlu wished success to the athletes and gave the start to the first races.

In his speech in the ceremony area, Minister Kasapoğlu highlighted the success of Turkey in organizing international sports events.
Emphasizing that Turkey aimed for the top in every area, including sports, Minister Kasapoğlu said that the World Rally Championship was an example to this.
Indicating that sports infrastructure, facilities and many events carried out thanks to such opportunities take Turkey on another level, Minister Kasapoğlu said, “Our President’s strong vision in every area in the last 18 years has revealed itself to be the strongest and highest in sports, as well.
Reminding that they had conducted a very important tourism workshop in Antalya in the past months, Minister Kasapoğlu indicated that a step would be taken to make Turkey an important destination of sports tourism in the coming period.
“We will host significant organizations in the upcoming period”
Stating that there were no problems in the international organizations thanks to welcoming and sincere attitude of Turkish people, Ministe Kasapoğlu said:
“"It is important that the quality and service standards of our hotels and the service industry are at a very high level. Despite the pandemic, we are hosting organizations voluntarily. This organization also shows the success of our country in its fight against the pandemic. I hope our development in sports tourism will continue by leaps and bounds. I hope we will host significant organizations in the upcoming period. We have successful organizations ahead of us”.

Minister Kasapoğlu got on the race car of Yağız Avcı, the Red Bull athlete who won 5 Turkey championships and one FIA European Rally Championship in his career, and had a chat with the athlete.
Underlining that world-famous pilots competed in the organization, Minister Kasapoğlu also wished success to the Turkish athletes that would compete in the races.
