10/28/2020 Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu published a message on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day.

Minister Kasapoğlu wrote as follows in his message:

“I respectfully commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the heroes who took part in our victorious War of Independence, as well as the heroes serving in our fight for independence and our future then and now.

As a state and nation, we are in a relentless struggle yet again to protect our existence and future. The attacks of terrorist organizations and the recently increasing attacks against our country are the manifestations of our struggle. From the incidents in the Eastern Mediterranean and just across our borders to the current state of our economy, these attacks that target our sovereign rights continue non-stop. Today, we are putting up a fight against any domestic and foreign plots against our national unity and solidarity, just like our fight for Independence a hundred years ago. I hope to God that we will continue to defeat their traps and plots against our country, our state and our sovereignty with the support of our nation.

The proud achievements of our republic, the level that our country has reached and our nation looking out for our Republic and national sovereignty for 97 years have always been and will continue to be a beacon of hope for our geography and oppressed nations.

Our Republic, which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk called as ‘my greatest work’ will be uplifted in unity and solidarity by our young ones, who are the guarantee of our future.

With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate, with mercy and gratitude, all our martyrs and veterans who fought for their homeland, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, and our Independence heroes, and once again, I celebrate the 97th anniversary of our Republic.”
