MINISTER KASAPOĞLU IN HAKKARI
Visiting Hakkari to the attend the opening program of the 2nd round competitions in Turkey Rafting Championship, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu
said, “Considering the strong potential of the city, we believe that we will send the strongest message to those who feed off terrorism and bloodshed by promoting sports and raising the stars of tomorrows in Hakkari”.
Minister Kasapoğlu went to Hakkari to the attend the opening program of the 2nd round competitions in Turkey Rafting Championship.
First visiting the Governor’s Office and signing the Governor’s Office’ Book of Honor, Minister Kasapoğlu met with the Governor and Deputy Mayor İdris Akbıyık, Yüksekova District Governor and Deputy Mayor Osman Doğramacı, Şemdinli Mayor Tahir Saklı and other ranking officials to evaluate the investments and services in the area.
Later, in his statement to reporters, Minister Kasapoğlu indicated that they came to the city for a very important organization and reminded that the 2nd round competitions of Turkey Rafting Championship would be held on the Great Zab River for the first time. Minister Kasapoğlu said, “Now Hakkari heralds that it has been cleansed off of terrorism, revealing a most powerful atmosphere of brotherhood, love and conversation. We are pleased to announce you that we have so many efforts and investments here to make sure all kinds of sports activities, especially outdoor sports, water sports, winter sports, among others, are held here in the upcoming period. On this occasion, I would like to express how happy I am about the beautiful emergence of the changing and transforming spirit of sports here”.

Stating that they are trying to implement highly important projects in Hakkari and its districts, Minister Kasapoğlu emphasized that Hakkari and its districts had increasing number of swimming pools and attracting various investments. Indicating his belief that they would take the spirit of sports higher in Hakkari and its districts thanks to the investments, Minister Kasapoğlu continued his words:
“Considering the strong potential of the city, we believe that we will send the strongest message to those who feed off terrorism and bloodshed by promoting sports and raising the stars of tomorrows in Hakkari. In this sense, our cooperation to reveal the spirit and power of sports will continue. In particular, the potential of winter sports is great in Hakkari, and the ski project as well as the training center and hotel project are coming along fast. Our aim is to take the atmosphere of brotherhood and love further in line with the spirit of sports. Today, Hakkari is very different. This atmosphere, this beautiful picture, it is a highly crucial result. It heralds much brighter tomorrows to us. For this, I am thankful to our security forces and administrations”.
Minister Kasapoğlu underlined that there were no obstacles that could not be overcome as long as they were in unity and solidarity. Pointing out that the championship to be held on the Great Zab River would send a message to not only certain circles but also the entire world, Minister Kasapoğlu said, “From now on, we will see that flowers bloom differently here. We will express that the bad intentions of others have come to an end. We will tell them, ‘These lands are of no use to you anymore. You will not exploit those pure people of these lands anymore. We will never allow it.’ We will stand by our young people as we have always done”.
Minister Kasapoğlu visited shopkeepers, chatted with citizens in a teahouse, and gave books to young people as presents.
