MESSAGE ON “NOVEMBER 10th” FROM DR. MEHMET MUHARREM KASAPOGLU, THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS
“We mark 80th anniversary of the death of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the very first President of the Republic of Turkey and the chief commander of our Independence War, with mercy and gratitude.
His memory will always be remembered owing to the battle for independence he initiated shoulder to shoulder with the great nation of Turkey. The honest way to look after his legacy is through maintaining the ideal of going beyond the level of contemporary civilization, forever. All the steps we take with this awareness in mind are for the “new rising generation” that will shoulder the future of our republic and democracy.
Besides, our efforts to carry the Turkish sports to the highest ranks in the world will continue with our model athletes whom Gazi Mustafa Kemal pointed out with the phrase “I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright”.
With the passion we see in the eyes of our youth to whom Ataturk entrusted our Republic, we will continue to move faithfully toward our 2023 goals.
From the bottom of my heart, I remember with mercy and gratitude Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of our Republic, his brothers in arms and all of our heroes who used their hearts as a shield for the defence of the country.”
